Lenovo P770 Battery Monster Hands-on Review

For smartphones users, it's really frustrating when it's just the middle of the day and your phone is crying for a power outlet to charge them. For me, I find it really frustrating specially when I go out a lot and it's like you are in the Amazing Race show looking for power outlets in cafeteria or a free phone charging station.

It's not my drama anymore since I bought my Lenovo P770. This phone is packed with battery juice that suits my lifestyle since I'm always on the go and I am online 24/7 using my phone.

The Main Course: The Monstrous 3500mAh Battery

Inside this monster hides a 3500maH battery that claims 644 hours of standby and 29 hours of talk time. I mainly use my phone for internet, social media and checking my office e-mail. I've nothing to complain about battery life when I was using my Lenovo P700i phone for it last for the entire day with data services always on but after I upgraded to P770, I never though that it exceeded my expectations. I can use this phone for more than 24 hours and it's still kicking the next day!

Adding Up the Spice: Phone Specs, Look and Feel

This phone is equipped with 1.2Ghz Dual-Core processor ideal for multitasking. Phone is responsive and delays are unnoticeable if there will be. With 4.5 inch qHD IPS LCD Screen plus the sweetness of Android Jellybean OS I should say that it's worth bragging. I tried to watch videos on this phone and it's crisp and clear!. The look of the phone is almost like Blackberry Z10 but it brags the trusted name of Lenovo on top of it. The weight of this phone is kinda heavy but please bear in mind that it's because of the enormous battery that it houses inside. I personally prefer phones with weight and bulky for it makes me feel that I'm holding a phone and not a toy. Photos taken from this phone's camera comes out decent enough for social media uploads. Good thing it now has flash compared to Lenovo P700i. I posted some photos using the camera so you can check it out. I also played Temple Run 2, Dungeon Hunter 3 and Eternity Warrior on this phone and gameplay is good if not best. Here's the complete detail below of the phone specs:

The Dessert: USB On-the-Go

Battery is the glittering feature of this phone that's why I purchased it but I never thought that the it has something extra! The USB On-the-Go feature is something that is very useful and quite impressive! I can easily access files from my external hard drives and it's quite easy. I even watch movies stored on my flash drive and utilize it's qHD screen and watch it with amazement. Aside from that, I can use an external mouse (like there really is a cursor that will move around your screen) and I can connect a keyboard while using it making it feels like a mini computer. How sweet is that?!

The Downside

Like all phones, this power-packed monster do have downsides. The phone don't have Compass built-in so if you are into traveling and you use Google Maps for Navigation, this will be quite challenging but GPS locking is quite fast on this phone. Though camera is great at 5MP, they could have upgraded it to 8MP considering the price range of the handset. The audio quality of the headset included in the package is not that good so I ended up buying a different headset but audio is still not that loud (maybe I got used with the audio output of my iPod). Another downside of the phone is that it does not support LTE but for me it's not a problem for now since LTE is not yet widely available in the country.

The Finale

Everyone do have different needs when it comes to looking for a better smart phone. For me, Lenovo P770 is perfect handset that meets all my needs and I really find this phone reliable enough to help me survive the day. While everyone is looking for an AC outlet for them to charge their phone, I'm so glad that I don't have to do that anymore. I don't need an expensive and high-end phone if it will always end up connected to a cable and the wall. Attaching a battery backup or a powerbank makes it ugly to look at that's why I love this phone. It makes me think about what the Lenovo slogan says: It's FOR THOSE WHO DO.
